After some thoughtful review and consideration, I will be remaining in the community and splitting my time between being on base with the military and working at Mat-Su Regional Medical Center. Thank you for your support at this time of change and new beginnings. Sincerely, Dr. Boston May 20, 2023
I would like to thank the community of Alaskans who welcomed me and my family here 19 years ago. Throughout all of these years we have met so many dear friends and have formed so many cherished friendships both within and outside the office. Two years ago a few things changed for our practice as I was approached by an outside company to purchase Boston Internal Medicine. I declined several times, but they persisted and we eventually came to an agreement. At the time, I felt this was the best decision in the COVID medical world, as it offered more benefits and job security for my wonderful staff. Regrettably, the new ownership has chosen to go in a different direction and let myself and my wife go, effective June 1, 2023. This was an unexpected turn of events and we are truly heartbroken. I will profoundly miss the many patients that have become like family over these last two decades. Regretfully, I have a non-compete agreement that will not allow me to practice in the area for three years; so at this time, I will be taking a break to spend time with my wife of 30 years. We will be working together to find the best way forward. We would like to stay in the community where we have raised our family and where we have called home for so long, but in what capacity that is unknown at this time. We will miss seeing so many of you in the office, but will be so grateful to see you in the community and hear of your support for us as we move forward. If you'd like any future updates, please leave your email in the form below. Thank you all, it has truly been an honor to serve the great people of Alaska. Dr. John Boston |
